We explore the darker and moodier influences of Neptune with the newest musical soundscape in this series. Athene is one-third of Brokntoys, the active and dynamic London-based electronic music label, which also includes the imprint Eidetic. Brokntoys consistently delivers memorable releases from some of the best electro producers so be sure to check out their Bandcamp page! Athene also introduced her own label, Subapical, alongside Kris Hall last year. The young label’s newest release, out in December, includes four excellent tracks by The Pulse Projects, Albert van Abbe’s grittier electro and industrial project. In addition to running two successful labels and being a Developmental Neurobiologist, she has a string of DJ gigs across Europe this year and next including an upcoming Brokntoys showcase at Tresor, Berlin on December 8.
