A Los Angeles resident by way of Moscow, Ed Vertov is co-owner of Stellar Remnant, a record label, online record shop and soon to be physical record shop in downtown LA. Until now, you may have seen their pop-up at events like Acid Camp and Crate Diggers. While Stellar Remnant focuses on techno, ambient and experimental music, they distribute and sell records across the electronic music spectrum and have a delightful selection of electro! Ed is also co-founder of Pro-Tez Records, the first Russian/American exclusive Kompakt label.

Ed and his wife Lena Deen are two of the DJs who I admire and respect most in the local dance music community of LA and beyond. They’re also two of the best DJs and I’ve considered them role models ever since I started DJing. Particularly when it comes to playing vinyl, they’ve been especially inspiring and have encouraged me to keep it up. Together we’ve shared the bill with Cio D’Or, Rrose, Function, Edit Select and Martyn. I’m so proud of Ed and Lena’s success with Stellar Remnant and I can’t wait for their new shop to open! It’s a massive treat to share an electro mix by Ed because I know this may not be the sound that people are used to hearing from him. However, Ed’s flawless musical taste and mastery of the turntables shines through!
